Mother's Day

Sunday was Mother's day. It was my second mother's day and I had a great day. The day started out kinda down cause Zack had to work in the mourning. But it didn't start out to bad at least Tommy slept tell about 9:30 so I didn't have to get up to early with him so that was nice. Then the rest of the mourning me and Tommy played together and watched cartoons together. I fed him breakfast and played on the internet and sent out Mother's day cards to our moms threw the email with a really cute picture of Tommy on it, that we took just for the cards. Then after he was done eating he played some more. Than about noon I gave Tommy a bath and he gave me a shower cause he likes to splash a lot so usually when I give him a bath I come out a little wet myself. But that's okay I don't mind. After his bath I put him down for a nap. So I had a little time to myself which is always nice.

Zack called after I put Tommy down for a nap and I asked him if he was going to get off early and he said that he had to work tell 3:30. After hearing that I kinda got depressed and mad at him for not taking the day off. So I then got in the shower and while I was in the shower I decided that I would make myself some brownies and put chocolate fudge frosting on them. So after decided that I started getting in a better mood. (Chocolate always does that.)

After I got out of the shower I baked myself some brownies. And while the brownies was baking Zack got home early so that really made things better plus he came home with presents for me. But I couldn't have them tell after Tommy woke up. Since some of the presents was from Tommy and Tommy had to sign the card (or at least scribble).

So shortly after Zack got home Tommy woke up and Zack took him into the bedroom and said to stay out tell he said other wise. So Zack and Tommy got my presents together and the cards signed and they let me into the room. The cards were perfect they fit me. Zack is really good at picking out cards for me.

So the presents I got were a new flashlight that doesn't take batteries from Tommy, to replace the one that he broke. And Zack got me a wine poorer that you stick in the wine bottle and it helps so when you pour the wine it doesn't drip all over. Plus I got an Ice wine and a Gewurztraminer. He knows that I have been on a sweet wine kick lately. Plus he said that I needed to decided what else I wanted and I thought that the wine was enough but he has to spoil me. I guess I shouldn't complain if he wants to spoil me.. I think I am going to ask for a new dresser because we really need one.
After that Zack started cooking the sauce for spaghetti, so it could simmer a long time before we needed to eat. And then we downloaded a new game on the PS3 called Magic Ball. It is a really fun game and we played that so a long time and watched a little TV too. And drank some wine. Than later on we ate the spaghetti dinner that Zack fixed for my Mother's day dinner. It turned out really good. He is a really good cook.
So for Mother's Day we didn't do anything fancy or anything special. We just hung out at home just the three of us and it was really nice. We had a good time just hanging out not having to worry about what homework Zack had to do. But to just kick back drink some wine and play video games and realize was what my Mother's day consisted of and it was a really good day.

The Past 5 years

My wedding anniversary was 2 weeks ago on April 4. I have been married for 5 wonderful years. And lately I have been thinking a lot about that time in my life and how much things have changed in the last five years. For starters 6 years ago if somebody would have told me that I would meet and marry a sailor and move to Washington I would have told them they were crazy. For one thing I never thought I would leave Utah, I figured that I would always live there. Then one crazy night I met this sailor and my life changed forever, for the good. I fell madly in love. And a month later I was headed to Washington for a 2 week vacation which turned into 4 months before I came back to Utah. And when I did come back I was married and was only coming back for a two week vacation so we could meet each other family's. And was then headed back to Washington to live in our new apt. that we had just moved into before we left for vacation.

The next 3 years we lived a carefree life, we had a few bills and rent. We did a lot of wine tours in Yakima, WA, and also went to the Oregon coast a lot especially if we had a 3 day weekend. We did a lot of wine tasting in the Willamette Valley, OR. Stayed at the Stephanie Inn right on the OR coast on our anniversary and each year we would stay more nights. Our 3rd anniversary was the last year we stayed there. For after that we had our son Tommy and our priority's changed. Instead of spending lots of money on wine and a very nice bed and breakfast we spent it on things for Tommy instead.

And now I think back to that day I got married and how in love we were that day and how much we are still in with love each other now and share our love for each other with Tommy who is the greatest joy in our lives. And I hope for the next five years that we remain deeply in love with each other and maybe even have more kids to share our love with.
